I purchased a GenieGo about a month ago. This is advertised as a way to access your DVR playlist and stream recorded programs ANYWHERE.
NO WHERE is more like it. After extended issues and multiple efforts to get OOH set up correctly, each time I do so, when I get to another network to actually try it, I get playback errors."Unable to stream due to a DRM connection issue", or "Playback Error, Unable to stream your video at this time". I get the same error on both my PC laptop, and my ipad and iphone. What is the fix for this? Is there one?
I have spent hours with GenieGo tech support, who blames my ISP, or the Apple IOS. My ISP blames DirecTV. What is the problem? When I am in my home, all the features work, but that's not the point. I don't need it when home. I travel for several months a year and usually suspend my DirecTV service while gone, thus not paying for it. I thought I would keep it this year, and use the GenieGo to access my DVR. Guess not. Might as well save 3 months of paying for DirecTV service and be money ahead.
