For maximum flexibility:
- Run four RG6 solid copper core coax cables from the dish location to a central wiring closet
- If you want off air reception using an off-air antenna, run another RG6 coax from the antenna location to that closet
- Ideally your wiring closet should also have AC power and an ethernet connection to your home network
- Run one RG6 coax cable (two if you also want off-air reception) from the central wiring closet to each room's TV/Receiver/DVR location
- Your DirecTV equipment will only require one ethernet connection at the central location to provide internet access and Whole Home DVR sharing across all of your DVRs/Receivers.
